N.B.—In considering- the combined totals (1 and 2) it will be
noticed that 44.4 per cent, of the cases were in the age group 1-5

during the year in 225 completed cases, of which 222 proved
negative. In the other three cases, positive results were obtained.
One of these has since received two further inoculations and one,
one inoculation.
Enteric Fever.
Eight cases were notified during 1931, there were no deaths
and six of the patients received hospital treatment.
Erysipelas.
Of 54 cases notified, 22 received hospital treatment. There
were no deaths.
Puerperal Fever.
The cases numbered 4 and the deaths from this cause totalled
6. All the cases were treated in hospital. The reason for more
deaths than notifications is due to inward transferable deaths and
the death certificate indicating Sepsis, whereas the case was
notified as Pyrexia.
Puerperal Pyrexia.
Six notifications were received, all of whom were treated in
hospital and there were no deaths assigned to this cause.
