During the year, the Public Vaccinator carried out the following vaccinations:—

Scarlet Fever.
The notifications of Scarlet Fever again decreased from 484
in 1930 to 245 in 1931. The deaths resulting from these 245 cases
numbered 2. Of the patients notified, 159 were removed to
hospital or 69 per cent.
Diphtheria.
196 cases were notified as against 473 for the previous year.
189 patients were removed to hospital or 96 per cent. The number
of deaths was 18. The same arrangements exist for providing
anti-toxin and examination of nose and throat swabs as outlined
in my former reports.
Schick Immunization Clinic.
During the year 1931, 255 infants and children have received
three inoculations.
The total number of inoculations performed Has been 784, of
which 63 were carried out by Private Practitioners and 721 at the
Town Hall clinic.
The following figures are intended to indicate the number
inoculated and the age groups involved in the cases treated at the
Town Hall clinic and by General Practitioners:—
