PREVALENCE OF AND CONTROL OVER
INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
General.
Reference to table 21 will show that there was a very substantial
decrease in the number of cases of notifiable infectious disease
notified during the year, the figures being 654 against 1,187 in
1930.
Smallpox.
It is gratifying to be able to report that the number of cases of
smallpox notified during 1931 had decreased from 70 (1930) to 51,
and that the disease remained the mild type as experienced in recent
years.
The particulars of these 51 cases are shown in tabular form as
follows:—
