Report of the Medical Officer of
Health.
3. Consultants in Special Cases.
Medical Officer of Health acts as
Consultant in cases of Puerperal
Fever and cases usually removed
to an Institution. Suggest an
isolation block for these cases
should be provided in new Maternity
Hospital and a Specialist
appointed.
4. Provision of Ancillaries.
(a) Sterilised Maternity Outfits.
The issue of these Outfits was
discontinued after experiments
had proved unsatisfactory.
(b) Home Helps.
Does not consider them necessary,
at present.
Recommendatious or opinion of SubCommittee.
That the Medical Officer of Health
be directed to continue to act as
Consultant for these cases until
Consultant appointed to new Hospital.
That Borough Engineer be
directed to make provision in plans
for new Hospital for an isolation
block for cases of puerperal fever.
(a) That this question be again
considered when the new Maternity
Hospital is erected.
(b) That the Medical Officer of
Health be directed to submit to a
subsequent meeting of the Maternity
& Child Welfare Sub-Committee a
report on the conditions of service
and appointment of Home Helps by
neighbouring authorities.
(c) Supply of Milk for Mothers.
Provision already made with
Maternity & Child Welfare Clinics.
(d) Laboratory facilities.
Specimens forwarded by Medical
men or midwives are sent to
London Laboratories for examination.
5. Post Natal Clinics.
Should be conducted at new Agreed.
Maternity Hospital.
6. Provision for Ophthalmia
Neonatorum.
Cases are seen by Ophthalmic
Surgeon and, if necessary, are
admitted to East Ham Memorial
Hospital.
7. Provision for Unmarried
Mothers.
