Acute Polio-Myelitis.
No case of this disease was notified.
Typhus Fever.
No case was notified.
Tuberculosis.
The number of deaths from Tuberculosis during the year was
185 as compared with 181 in 1914.
The following table shows the number of deaths from Pulmonthy
Tuberculosis and other forms of the disease:—
Pulmonary Tuberculosis (Phthisis), 139 deaths.
Tuberculosis of the Brain, 17 deaths.
Other forms of Tuberculosis, 29 deaths.

Under the Public Health (Tuberculosis) Regulation the total number of notifications received was 424.

Tuberculosis (Pulmonary)342 as against 550 in 1914.
Tuberculosis (Other Forms)82 as against 115 in 1914.

COMMUNICABLE DISEASES NON-NOTIFIABLE.
Measles.
552 cases of Measles were registered from the Schools.
24 deaths occurred from Measles and complications, 19 of
these being children under school age, viz., 3 under 1 year,
8 between the ages of 1 and 2 years, and 8 between 2 and 5 years.
Whooping Cough.
This disease was more prevalent in the Borough than in
previous years, and 31 deaths were registered as due to Whooping
Cough as against 19 in 1914 and 15 in 1913. This disease ought
to be made notifiable. It is quite a common experience during
visits to Picture Theatres to find children present suffering from
Whooping Cough, thus spreading infection.
Cancer (Malignant Disease).
135 deaths were registered as due to Cancer as compared with
108 in the previous year. 109 of these deaths were in persons of
45 years and upwards.
