II. That a sub-committee be appointed by this Conference to confer with the Directors of
the Crystal Palace Company upon this matter, and to report further to the Conference hereon.
III. That the Local Authorities of the Metropolis, the Corporation of the City of London,
the London County Council, and the Municipal Corporations of England and Wales be invited
to co-operate in the matter.
Resolved That the thanks of the Vestry be accorded Messrs. Beasley, Mortimer and
Vezey, for their attendance at and report upon the first meeting of the Conference.
On 1st February, 1898, Messrs. Mortimer and Beasley were appointed Delegates to
attend a further Conference to be held at the Mansion House, at which the Lord Mayor
was to preside.
The Conference had not been held at the close of the year.
Princess of Wales' Dinner Fund.
A letter having been received by the Chairman from the Lord Mayor inviting his
co-operation and also that of the Vestry in the matter of the distribution of the above fund
for providing a meal during Jubilee week to the outcast poor.
The Vestry, on 1st June, 1897, Resolved— That the whole of the members of the vestry
form the nucleus of a Committee to consider the matter.
Subsequently, upon the invitation of the Vestry, the Committee was considerably enlarged
by Clergymen and Workers in the Parish tendering their services.
Sub-Committees were also formed for the four Polling Districts .
The Rector acting as convener for No. 2 Polling District.
