Inquests
Held in the Parish, and also on Parishioners who have met with death outside the Parish.
Seventy Inquests have been held. Verdicts were
During the month of January-Four. Run over by Van; Heart Disease; Head crushed
by fall of a pile of deals; Fall on a heap of stones.
During the month of February-Eight. Apoplexy; Run over by Van; Two, Heart
Disease; Peritonitis; Burns from Gas Explosion; Fall from side of Steamship;
Burns to face and chest.
During the month of March—Four. Atelectasis; Convulsions; Heart Disease; Fracture
of Skull.
During the month of April—Four. Bronchitis; Suicide by swallowing Nitric Acid;
Convulsions; Suffocated from natural causes.
During the month of May—
During the month of June—Four. Drowned in Docks; Drowned in Thames; Found
dead; Brain Disease.
During the month of July—Eighteen. Five, Drowned in Docks; Four, Heart Disease;
Convulsions; Drowned in Surrey Canal; Suffocated in Bed; Sunstroke;
Tubercular Meningitis; Found Dead; Fall into hold of ship; Pulmonary
Consumption; Gastro-intestinal Catarrh.
During the month of August—Eight. Run over by Cart; Drowned in Pocks , two
Drowned in Thames; Two, Heart Disease; Burns by the breaking of a small
glass lamp; Convulsions caused by Sunstroke.
During the month of September-Sis. Suicide by Drowning; Diphtheria:
Convulsions; Drowned in Thames; Heart Disease; Debility througli injudiciou.
