Notification of Infectious Diseases

The following Table gives the number and nature of the cases notified under Sections 55 and 56 of the Public Health Act during the 52 weeks ended January 1st, 1898, and indicates also where the same received treatment:

The amount paid to the Medical practitioners for furnishing
the above Certificates amounted to £57 3s. For the year 1896
the sum of £58 15s. was paid. The Vestry is recouped for this
expenditure by the Metropolitan Asylums Board (out of the
Metropolitan Common Poor Fund), to which Board a copy of
each certificate is sent within 12 hours of the receipt of the same.

In accordance with the provisions of the Act, house accommodation,
with necessary attendants, has been provided at 41,
