Clinics and Treatment Centres.
The following is a summary of the various clinics and treatment
centres in the district:
Infant Welfare Centres.
All sessions at the infant welfare centres are held in the
afternoons.
St. Hilda's Hall, Northolt Road, South Harrow—Thursday
and Friday.
Conservative Club, Lowlands Road—Tuesday and Friday.
(These clinics were previously maintained by the Harrowon-the-Hill
Council.)
Elmwood Clinic, Kenton—Wednesday and Friday.
Broadway Clinic, Wealdstone—Tuesday and Thursday.
(These clinics were previously maintained by the Wealdstone
Urban District Council.)
The following clinics were provided by the Middlesex County
Council, by whom they were maintained until the end of the year :
Memorial Hall, High Road, Harrow Weald—Monday and
Thursday.
St. George's Hall, Headstone—Tuesday and Wednesday.
Free Church Lecture Hall, Paines Lane, Pinner—Friday.
Whitchurch Institute, Whitchurch Lane, Stanmore—Friday.
Ante-Natal Clinics.
An ante-natal clinic was provided by the Wealdstone Urban
District Council at the Elmwood Avenue Clinic, being held on the
afternoon of the second Monday of each month. The Middlesex
County Council provided an ante-natal clinic at St. George's,
Headstone, on the afternoon of the last Thursday of the month.
In June, 1934, a monthly session was opened at the Broadway
Clinic, being held on the fourth Monday of the month. At
"Tyneholme" a weekly ante-natal clinic was held on Tuesday
afternoons. Owing to the large attendances, this service was
supplemented by holding an evening session in addition.
Treatment Centres.
Provision for treatment is made mainly at "Tyneholme,"
Headstone Drive, Wealdstone, run by the Council of Child Welfare.
The scope of the work includes dental treatment, massage, sunlight
treatment, and treatment of visual defects. The following is a
list of the clinics and the times they are held:—
Dental Clinic Saturday, 10 a.m., 2 p.m.
Eye Clinic First Tuesday of the month, 1.30 p.m.
Massage Clinic Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 1.30 p.m.
Sunlight Clinic Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m.
