Council pays the fees of necessitous cases for whom such arrangements
have been made.

County Council North-Western Fever Hospital, or to Queen
Charlotte's Isolation Hospital.
(3) Hospitals for Children.
Apart from the arrangements by which cases of ophthalmia
neonatorum are admitted to St. Margaret's Hospital, Hampstead,
there was at the end of the year no provision made for the admission
of children to hospital.
(4) Orthopædic Hospitals.
No provision is made for the admission of orthopaedic patients
to institutions.
Ambulance Facilities.
(a) For Infectious Cases.
Infectious cases are removed either by the Morris ambulance
at the Rayners Lane Hospital, or by the Austin ambulance at the
Honeypot Lane Hospital.
(b) For Non-infectious Cases and Accidents.
Harrow-on-the-Hill Council maintained a 20-h.p. Austin
ambulance, housed at the Fire Station, driven by the firemen,
who are on call at all times. The Wealdstone Council housed at
the Fire Station a 14-h.p. Morris ambulance.
In December, 1934, a 20-h.p. Talbot ambulance was put into
commission at the Wealdstone Fire Station, the Morris ambulance
from that time being used as a stand-by.
The ambulance service provided by the Wealdstone Council
was free to residents, though a charge was made to non-residents,
whilst for the use of the Harrow-on-the-Hill ambulance a charge
was made to all. Arrangements were in operation by which patients
in the Hendon Rural area were removed by the Harrow ambulance.
The Council at their meeting on July 31st decided that no charge
be made to residents within the Harrow Urban District for the
use of any ambulance under the control of the Council. Reciprocal
arrangements were entered into with the neighbouring authorities
of the Borough of Hendon, the Urban District of Ruislip-Northwood,
the Borough of Ealing, the Urban District of Wembley, and the
Borough of Watford.
