The Violent Deaths were 67, of which 7 only belong to the
Brompton sub-district. The causes of 61 of these 67 deaths are
accounted for below. The grounds for holding inquests are, usually,
the suddenness of death, or the fact that death was due to
violence, or that the deceased had been "found dead."
The causes of death found in the verdicts may be classified as
