OUTWORKERS
The last return made by employers of Outworkers showed that
185 persons living in the Borough were engaged on outwork. An
additional 72 persons were employed by firms in the Borough but who
themselves lived outside the Borough.
The houses of the Outworkers are visited periodically to ensure
that the standard of cleanliness and working conditions generally
are satisfactory.
