for the shewing of cinema pictures ; for the giving of organ
recitals ; for the production of the play : for the preparation
of models for exhibition ; for making the stalls attractive,
and in many other ways. We are also grateful to the voluntary
workers for their assistance in running the creche and in
assisting in the welfare centre and at the stalls.
To all who helped we have extended, in accordance
with the pleasure of the Council, our hearty thanks.
The attendance at the Town Hall during the Week was
very gratifying, totalling, as in 1926, just short of 10,000.
The attendances at the Exhibition and the Maternity Centre
and Sunlight Clinic were not recorded, but a noticeable
feature of the attendances there was that the daily numbers
increased as the Week went on.
Our experience this year has demonstrated that there is
the same keen desire for information on health matters as
was noted in previous years, and it is fair to say that the
public interest is increasing, even to the extent that special
types of audiences attend individual lectures, e.g., the lecture
on Cancer was attended by a much older audience than
any other.
The success of Health Week could not have been acheived
without the united support of the Council and the keen
co-operation of the staff and the voluntary workers, and we
take this opportunity of thanking all who so contributed for
the enthusiasm and energy with which they carried out their
share."
