It is the duty of the Care Committee to ensure that no
stone shall be left unturned to help the patients to carry out
the recommendations made by the Tuberculosis Officer ; it
advises and assists these according to the circumstances of
the case. During the year 47 dispensary patients have
been helped by the provision of extra clothing, where necessary,
required by the institution to which the patient is to be
admitted ; by supplying the necessities for domiciliary treatment,
which a patient is unable to provide for himself ; by
making arrangements for the welfare of the family while
the father or the mother are away in hospital, and in other
divers ways. It makes recommendations to the Public
Health Committee as to the cases which should receive extra
nourishment under the Council's scheme, and as to the assessment
which should be made where dentures are recommended
