The ratio of non-notified tuberculosis deaths to the
total tuberculosis deaths was as one is to twelve. In 1925
and 1926 it was as one is to eight. So far as efficiency of
notification is concerned, the year's figures are an improvement
on those of the previous two years, but it is still regretable
to report that over one-third of the cases are not notified
at all or only notified within three months of death. There
is no evidence that this high percentage is due to wilful
neglect or refusal to notify.
