During the year a careful survey was made of all cases
on the register, and as a result many were removed under one
or other of the above heads. In consequence of this action
the number of known cases of tuberculosis living in the
district at the end of the year was 1,496, a very considerable
reduction on the previous published figures of 2,210. The
following Table, No. 63, shows the number of cases on the
register at the beginning of 1927, the changes which have
taken place during the year, and the number remaining on
the register at the end of the year.
