Notifications. During 1927, 353 primary notifications of
tuberculosis were received, details of which are given in
Table No. 61. In addition, 74 notifications were received
relating to cases which had been previously notified.
Sixteen cases died before notification.
The distribution of the disease amongst the various
persons notified each year since 1923 was as shown in the
following Table, No. 62.

Cases of Tuberculosis in the District. It is the duty of
the Medical Officer of Health to remove from the notification
register entries relating to notifications in respect of persons
who have died or ceased permanently to live in the district.
Cases also are removed in which the diagnosis of tuberculosis
is not confirmed or when a patient attains a condition in
which he may be regarded as cured.
