two in the Woolwich Infirmary and one in a general hospital
and subsequently in one of the hospitals of the Metropolitan
Asylums Board. This disease is infectious but the infectivity
is of a very low nature. Although the origin of every case
was thoroughly investigated, it was impossible to trace any
connection between any two cases. The sequelae of this
disease may be serious, as in most cases some permanent
damage to the brain occurs.
OTHER NOTIFIABLE INFECTIOUS DISEASES.
No case of Smallpox occurred and no special comment is
required on the incidence of Whooping Cough or Erysipelas.
