from 1904. Similar tables are set out below showing the
variation in the rates of mortality in children aged 1-2 years
and 2-5 years in the same quinquennial periods. These rates
have been calculated on an estimated population living at
these ages, the population being calculated in accordance
with the method outlined by the Registrar General in the
Census Report for 1911. The figures for 1924 are also given:—
