Inquests. There were 141 inquests held on Woolwich
residents during the year, compared with the 128 in 1923,
144 in 1922, 102 in 1921, and 145 in 1920.
DEATHS OF CHILDREN 1-5 YEARS OF AGE.
The number of deaths of children between 1-2 years of age
was 39, and between 2-5 years, 51. The causes of death are
given in detail in Table No. 13. In 1923 these figures were
12 and 20 respectively. In the annual report for 1923, a table
was published (Table No. 22) which showed the variation in
the rates of infant mortality during three quinquennial periods
