Home Isolation. 2 per cent. of all cases were isolated at
home, and in connection therewith 1 certificate of home
isolation was issued to enable Arsenal employees to resume
work.
Multiple cases. The following Table (No. 33) shows the
house distribution of diphtheria, in Wards:—

Contacts. Contacts of cases were examined during the
year as in previous years, and 15 cases, presenting no clinical
symptoms, were discovered to be carriers. The usual steps
were taken in each case.
Bacteriological Examination. The Council's bacteriological
work is done by the Bacteriological Department of the Seamen's
Hospital, Greenwich. 966 swabs were examined
during the year for diphtheria bacilli, and 122 were found
positive.
