SCARLET FEVER.
Notifications. During the year 1351 cases of scarlet fever
were notified. This is the highest number ever recorded in
the records of the Borough. The previous highest figures
occurred in 1907 (1,023) and in 1909 (1,027). Table IV.
shows the age distribution, the number in each parish, and
the number removed to hospital.
The following Table, No. 30, shows the case-rate of scarlet
fever in each registration district, and in the Borough (not
corrected for mistaken diagnosis), and the percentage removed
to hospital each year since 1917. The term "case-rate"
means the number of cases occurring per 1,000 population.
