Empyema, and such other cases, whether pulmonary
or non-pulmonary, as he may deem desirable, and
the Hospital Committee agree that any cases so
referred shall be treated as may be necessary as
special out-patient cases for consultative purposes.
That no charge shall be made for out-patients.
(b) The agreement to be determined by six calendar
months' notice.
84. 9 Spitting Flasks were supplied at cost price, 6d.,
compared with 19, 25, 20, 21, and 20, in the previous five
years.
HISTORY OF WOOLWICH TUBERCULOSIS
ADMINISTRATION.
(1894-1913.)
The following table gives the dates of the chief steps
taken by the Borough Council and other bodies in combating
Tuberculosis: —
1894. Disinfectants supplied gratis by Plumstead Vestry
for use in Consumption.
1896. Leaflet of Precautions printed by Plumstead Vestry
and circulated through medical men, nurses,
clergy, and district visitors.
1898. The Medical Officer of Health, Plumstead, recommended
Notification of Consumption.
1900. Notices printed and distributed at public-houses,
workshops, etc., warning people against spitting.
1901. Voluntary Notification of Consumption and
infection of infected rooms begun.
1902. Pocket 6pittoons supplied cost price (6d.)
