the Borough, viz., 46 in Woolwich, 86 in Plumstead, and
102 in Eltham.
The following return of empty houses in the Borough in April, 1910, has been kindly supplied me by the Clerk to the Rating Committee :—
Woolwich Parish— | ||
Dockyard Ward | 98 | |
St. Mary's Ward | 65 | |
River Ward | 186 | |
St. George's Ward | 71 | |
- | 420 | |
Plumstead Parish— | ||
Burrage Ward | 62 | |
Herbert Ward | 80 | |
Glyndon Ward | 53 | |
St. Margaret's Ward | 162 | |
Central Ward | 41 | |
St. Nicholas Ward | 210 | |
- | 628 | |
Eltham Parish | 140 | |
Total | 1188 |
Thus the number of empty houses has increased pine
times in Woolwich Parish, and seven times in Plumstead,
but has changed little in Eltham.
4. The following table gives for each Ward the population
and number of inhabited houses at the Census, the
number of persons to a house, the number of new houses
certified for water certificates, and the present estimated
population.
The populations of the Wards are estimated
by the number of occupied houses in each Ward.
