Inhabited House Duty.
35. An application was received under this Act, for 16
houses in Blanmerle Eoad, Eltham. The certificates were
deferred for the remedying of various minor sanitary defects.
These having been satisfactorily completed, and the general
sanitary arrangements being good, the certificates have since
been granted.
Common Lodging Houses.
36. There are 18 common lodging-houses in the Borough,
16 for men, and 2 for women.
Total accommodation for 563 persons is available. The following is the list:—

On the night of the 15th January, 1909, 436 males and 26
females occupied these beds; 83 male and 18 female beds were
empty, and 20 males were turned away unable to pay.
