Verminous Persons
The number of lice-infested persons bathed and whose clothing was
disinfested at the Council's Cleansing Station, is as follows

The number of baths and treatments given amounted to 328.
Disinfection
Premises disinfected after infectious disease numbered 23, which
included nine for pulmonary tuberculosis. 7,363 articles of clothing
and bedding were steam disinfected, including 245 articles for export
for which five certificates were issued.
Formaldehyde disinfection of 85,048 articles of clothing and 25
tons of rags for export was also carried out, during the year, for
which 77 certificates were issued.
The charges for export and other disinfections carried out
amounted to £49.

The following is a summary of insect disinfestation work carried
out by the Public Health Inspector (Disinfestation)

Treatments referred to above included those for infestations of
cockroaches, beetles, ants, silverfish, and the like.
In addition disinfestation of the furniture and effects of
families rehoused by the London County Council, was carried out on
14 occasions.
The Council continues to carry out on behalf of the Stepney Group
Hospital Management Committee any necessary work of disinfestation at
hospitals and other premises in the Borough coming within the control
of that Committee.
