INFORMATION CENTRE.
The Council operates an Information Service for the public at the
Municipal Offices, 227/233, Commercial Road, E.l. (Telephone: stepneys
Green 1818).
LABORATORY FACILITIES.
Bacteriological investigations for infectious diseases are carried
out on behalf of the Public Health Department by the Regional Hospital
Board Group Laboratory at Mile End Hospital. (See also page 36 regarding
Food Samples). -
Investigations were carried out on 216 specimens submitted by
medical practitioners in the Borough during the year. The specimens
comprised 128 faeces, 61 throat swabs, 25 rectal swabs and 2 nasal swabs.
