OF THE AREA.
Population.—The estimate of the Registrar-General to the mid-year 1938
is 200,500.
Births.—The total number of live births of Stepney residents during the
year was 2,619—1,358 males and 1,261 females—or 140 less than in the
previous year. The birth-rate was 13.06 per 1,000 of the population.
