Sugar.— 3 samples of Demerara sugar and 3 samples of icing sugar were
analysed. One sample of Demerara sugar was adulterated.

pound. The remaining stock was destroyed.
Drugs.— Of 106 drugs analysed, 15 or 14.2 per cent, failed to comply
with the requirements of the British Pharmacopoeia and were returned as
adulterated.

C 657 (Informal). Contained 1.3 times the limit of iodine and 1.7 times
the limit of potassium iodide.
A further formal sample from the same vendor was satisfactory.
Poor Quality Samples.— These comprise samples of inferior grade or of
doubtful character and are 39 in number.
30 of these consisted of milk. Other poor quality samples were:—
Flour (2), Butter (2), Jam, Margarine, Camphorated Oil, Iodine Ointment
and Sulphur Ointment.
