715 visits were made to greengrocers and fruiterers shops and stalls and
269 notices were served for infringements of the Act with regard to the
marking of Apples and Tomatoes.

Occupiers of dairies and milkshops were advised concerning the requirements
of the Act particularly with regard to Butter and Dried Fruits and in
this respect it was found necessary to serve 175 notices.
There was a general improvement in the marking of imported meat
although it was found necessary to institute legal proceedings in two cases.
184 visits were made during the year and 6 notices were served on Wholesale
Grocers, 33 other notices were served in respect of miscellaneous food
premises.
