Particular attention was given to sausage manufacturers and
preparers cf oooked meat products. There are 30 premises where these
foods are manufactured and prepared. All such premises were speoially
inspected by the Chief Sanitary Inspector in conjunction with the Food
Premises Inspector and where the premises fell below standard, intimation
was given of the improvements required, and in 24 cases these
were effected.
It is interesting to note that approximately 9 tons of sausages
and about L?r tons of meat products (cooked meat, pies, etc.) are
manufactured in the borough each week*

ANTI-FLY CAMPAIGN.
Once again action was taken to combat this Public Health Menace.
By arrangement, and with the co-operation of the Transport and
Cleansing Superintendent, all dustbins and dust chutes were dusted
with 'Gammexane* after the receptacles had beer, emptied by the
Council's Dustmen. Owners of blocks of flats were al3o encouraged to
take action by purchasing Insecticide Powder supplied by the Public
Health Department at cost price. 80 lbs. was sold for this purpose
