The County of London (Measles and Whooping Cough) Regulations, 1938,
which came into operation on 1st October, 1938, rescinded the Shoreditch (Measles)
Regulations, 1935. The new regulations are enforced by local authorities throughout
London and provide for the notification of every case of measles or whooping cough,
provided it is the first case in the house within two months. The new regulations
differ from those rescinded in that the age limit of 5 years has been deleted. There
is no doubt that a larger number of notifications will result from this alteration.
