POPULATION.
The Registrar-General's estimate of the population of the Borough on 30th June
1928, is 101,200. This figure is 4,500 less than the corresponding figure for 1927 and
includes the inmates of the Holborn Institution in Wenlock Ward, numbering approximately
1,000, who are not regarded for statistical purposes as belonging to Shoreditch.

For the purposes of this report 100,200 is the estimated population for the year under consideration. The population in the various Wards of the Borough is estimated as follows :—
