Sandwich Chocolate.
(g)Composition: Contained a larva of the moth Ephestia. The presence of frass and webbing on the chocolate surface indicated that it had been living on the bar.Reported to Committee. Retailer warned.

Ground Cinnamon.
(h)Composition: Contained 0.45% V/W of essential oil. (Reasonable standard not less than 0.7% V/W).Repeat formal sample. Analyst advises against Statutory action.

Pork Sausagemeat.
(i)Composition: Meat 60% including 21% fat. The lean meat content is satisfactory but the fat should be increased to give a total meat content of not less than 65%. The sample contained 200 p.p.m., sulphite preservative which should have been declared.Repeat samples satisfactory.

Untreated Milk.
(b)Composition: Fat 4.15%, solids not fat 8.05%. The FPD indicated the presence of a minimum of 2% added water.Repeat samples satisfactory.

Bottle of Milk.
(b)Composition: Free in the pint bottle of milk was a piece of fused mineral matter of the nature of clinker (approx. 1 in. x i in.). There was also a number of relatively small particles of this material present. The milk passed the Methylene Blue Test.Matter drawn to attention of Dairy Company.

(b)Composition: No foreign matter was detected in the milk but there was a slight soiling of the inner surface of the bottle due to the presence of adherent mould growths.Reported to Committee. Dairy Company warned.

Buttered Roll.
(d)Composition: Contained a piece of string 14 in. long composed of cotton fibres which had been baked in the roll.Legal proceedings. Baker fined £20 with £14 lis. 1d. costs.

Bread.
(f)Composition: The crumb of the loaf was soiled by iron and mineral oil which had probably derived from the bakehouse machinery.Legal proceedings. Manufacturer fined £15 with £9 3s. Od. costs.
