TYPHOID FEVER.
A single case was notified during the year. This was imported
from overseas by a traveller who happened to come to Bromley
and developed the disease soon after arrival. After a spell in
hospital the patient made a good recovery.
WHOOPING COUGH.
One hundred notifications were received, which was a
reduction of 24 compared with the previous year. Only 3 of these
cases were admitted to hospital and once again we are facing a
problem of apparently declining virulence.
There were no deaths from this disease recorded in the area.
OTHER INFECTIOUS DISEASES
In addition to those previously mentioned, notifications were
received as under:—
Erysipelas 9 cases (1 removed to hospital).
Puerperal Pyrexia 22 cases (all of these occurred in hospitals).
