arranged whenever possible for those who aire fit to go, and kind

"Homefield." Admissions to "Homefield" during the year
totalled 103, and 55 patients were discharged during this time to
their own homes. There were four deaths during the early winter
months.
The poultry continue to yield good results and the eggs are a
great boon.
Two outings were made during the year—one in the Spring to
see the flowering trees, and one during Christmas week to see the
lighted trees at St. Pauls and Trafalgar Square, and decorations
in the West End.
Improvements in the Home include an additional sitting room
on the first floor, seating 16 patients.
Southwood Residential Club.
The W.V.S. Residential Club is always full and our waiting
list continues to lengthen.
We have had forty residents at Southwood since the opening
seven years ago. Our oldest resident is now 92, but still quite
active.

work for. They have also made toys for the children of Farnborough
Hospital this Christmas.

the W.V.S. Nursing Home. Patcham Grange, near Brighton, as they
were now in need of more nursing care than we could give them
at Southwood. Two residents have been transferred to Sharnbrook.
the W.V.S. half-way house, as they too, were in need of
more care and attention, and two residents were transferred to
another W.V.S. Club.
The rooms thus left vacant were quickly filled from our long
waiting list.
It has again been possible, by careful management, to maintain
the fees at last year's level of £2 14s. Od. per week. Some residents
are subsidised by the Local Authority.
We are most fortunate in our Warden who has been with us
since the Club opened. The care and attention she gives the
residents are very much appreciated, and adds very much to their
