DRAINAGE AND SEWERAGE.
There have been no works of major importance carried out
during the year.
CESSPOOLS.
No new premises have been erected with cesspool drainage
and no alterations to the drainage system of any other properties
on cesspool drainage have been carried out.
RIVERS. STREAMS AND LAKES.
No further works of culverting rivers or streams within the
area have been undertaken during the year.
Seven inspections and re-inspections were made by Sanitary
Inspectors during the year. Two samples of water were taken
from the pond in Church House Gardens, with the following
results:—
Sample A.—B. Coli (presumptive) present in 1 c.c., absent in 1/10 c.cs.
Further tests showed that these were not typical B. Coli.
Sample B.—B. Coli (presumptive) present in 1/10 c.cs., absent in 1/100
c.cs. Further tests showed that these were not typical B. Coli.
There was no evidence of recent faecal contamination.
SWIMMING BATHS AND POOLS.
39 inspections of swimming baths and pools in the Borough
were made by the Sanitary Inspectors, and 38 samples of water
were taken for examination. The results of these examinations
