CLINIC TREATMENT OF CHILDREN UNDER 5 YEARS.

The following table gives details of the treatments received by children, under 5 years of age, at the various remedial school clinics, and it is most encouraging to note the use of these clinics by the under 5 years.

In addition to the above nine children were referred to
hospital for tonsil and/or adenoid treatment.
HEALTH VISITORS. HOME VISITING.
530 primary visits to infants under one year were paid by
the Health Visitors up to 5th July, 1948. 1146 visits were made
before these children attained one year of age. 2396 visits were
made to children between one year and five years, giving a total
of 4072 welfare and babycraft visits to children under five years
of age.
Details of all home visiting during the period is as follows:—

CHILD LIFE PROTECTION.
The supervision of foster mothers is carried out by the
Health Visitors. At 5th July, 1948, fourteen children under nine
years of age were in the care of thirteen foster mothers, five
children having been received during the six months.
It was not necessary to institute legal proceedings during
this period.
