"Dunoran," Park Farm Road, Bickley.
I am indebted to the Administrative Officer of the Bermondsey
and Southwark Group Hospital Management Committee for
the following report:—
"In 1948 the number of beds available at Dunoran Home
was increased to thirty and during the year there were 59 admissions.
Thirty-one of these were dying patients; the remaining
twenty-eight were permanent chronic cases or patients
admitted for a short time for a necessary change of scene or to
give relatives a rest.
"In July the Home was taken over by the State and came
under the administration of the Bermondsey and Southwark
Hospital Management Committee. Since that time only chronic
and dying patients have been admitted and arrangements have
been made for the transfer of the elderly non-medical residents.
Most of these have now been transferred to Greenhill, Oaklands
Road, Bromley, a new Home for elderly women recently opened
by the Brook Lane Medical Mission."
