Rats and Mice Destruction Act, 1919.—447 inspections
carried out.
The usual routine work was carried out under the
foregoing headings. No alteration or development
occurred during 1939, which calls for special note, except
that owing to stress of work the annual Rat Week activity
was curtailed.
Legal Proceedings.
A case of selling cigarettes after hours was taken to
court and a fine of 20/- was imposed.
Factories.
The following figures indicate the work carried out
by the inspectors under the Factories Act, 1937: —
