SHOPS ACTS, 1912-1934.
During 1936, 244 inspections were made and the
following1 tabulation shows that the contraventions found
were principally due to the absence of certain prescribed
forms. Informal action secured the compliance with the
requirements of the Acts in all cases.
In a few instances it was found that assistants under
18 years of age were working slightly over the prescribed
number of hours, but these were rectified immediately the
shop-keepers' notice was drawn to this contravention.
It is pleasing to record that shop-keepers
conscientiously endeavour to comply with the provisions of
these Acts in Bromley.
