Dairies licenced for sale of Graded Milk:—
" Pasteurised " milk 14
" Certified " milk 8
" Grade A Pasteurised " milk 1
" Grade A (Tuberculin Tested) milk 9
Two milk producers hold licences from the Ministry of
Health for " Certified " and " Grade A " (Tuberculin
Tested) milk in respect of farms within the area.
Milk. Bacteriological Examinations.

There were 119 samples of milk submitted to bacteriological examination, and the results are shown in the following table, which includes the samples taken at the request of the Ministry of Health from licenced producers of "Certified" and "Grade A (Tuberculin Tested) " milk.

Eighteen samples of milk were submitted to test for
the presence of tubercle bacilli and in one case the result
was positive. Action was taken under the Tuberculosis
Order of 1925 and the infected animal was destroyed.
In the 31 instances of unsatisfactory results in the
above table, it was found that the presence of bacillus
coli was the prevailing fault, and in every case improvement
was brought about with the producers concerned.

The Milk and Dairies Order 192(1 was contravened
during 1935 in the following instances:—
