per week, and so do not call tor assistance to the same
extent as previously. Further, the establishment of the
Rest Room Clothing Department for the Unemployed,
organised by the Social Service Committee, has provided
facilities for the distribution of boots and clothing for
children of unemployed parents, and so relieved the Care
Committee of a large part of their responsibility in this
direction.

The following tabulation gives a summary of the 194 cases assisted during the year:—

Convalescent homes43
Fares to hospitals7
Extra nourishment75
Provision of glasses12
Provision of boots57

The Committee would like to record their appreciation
of the assistance given by Mr. Harris, who has continued
to supply glasses at a very reduced rate to those cases
recommended by the Care Committee. They would also
like to record their appreciation for the many Convalescent
Home Letters given by the Queen's Reign Commemoration
Fund, and cannot allow this Report to go forward without
expressing their regret at Miss Carter's resignation from
the Secretaryship and to record their appreciation for her
services in the past few years. In October last Miss M. A.
Isard was appointed to fill her place.
