"J.B. fractured the head of the right radius late in
October, 1933. When seen at the Clinic the elbow joint
was so stiff that operative replacement of the fractured
head was thought to be necessary. She was admitted on
24/11/1933, but as it was found that a good range of
movement could be obtained by physical treatment,
operation was not performed. She was discharged with
good movement in the elbow on 6/12/1933."
H. J. Seddon, f.r.c.s.
The lesser defects such as functional scoliosis create
one of the main defects in children attending the
Orthopfedic Clinic, and the treatment of these cases in the
early stages prevent permanent crippling or disability,
often far-reaching if left untreated. The response of
these cases to massage and remedial exercises is very
pleasing.
