HOUSING.
In common with most districts throughout the country there
has been in Wood Green since the end of the war a very acute
shortage of houses, partly due to destruction of property by enemy
action, and partly to the high marriage rate following the war
resulting in large numbers of young people desiring houses of their
own.
I am indebted to the Borough Surveyor for the following
figures showing what has been done so far in Wood Green to meet
the housing needs.
