ACCIDENTS DUE TO TRAFFIC.
The Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis has kindly
supplied me with the number of accidents due to traffic in Wood

There were 134 accidents in the High Road and 163 elsewhere
in Wood Green, as compared with 117 and 132 respectively during
1933, and the use of a motor ambulance was required on 239
occasions as compared with 144 in 1933.
GENERAL PROVISION OF HEALTH SERVICES
FOR THE AREA.
Professional Nursing in the Home.
(a) General.
For many years past the Wood Green Charity Trustees have
employed two district nurses whose services have been available for
sick persons in the district who are under the care of medical practitioners.
Much useful work has been done by these nurses, and
large numbers of the poorer members of the community have benefited
greatly from their services in time of sickness. It. has been
felt all along, however, by the Trustees that sufficient advantage
was not being taken by the community generally of the nursing
services available, and in the early part of the past, year steps were
taken to form a District Nursing Association on a provident contributory
basis. As a result the Wood Green Nursing Association has
been formed, affiliated to the Queen's Institute of Nursing, and a
home nursing service is now provided by this Association. The
Association has made very considerable headway since its inception
in June, 1934, and already considerably more home nursing is being
done than under the former system. Very generous assistance to
the new Association has been given by the Wood Green Charity
Trustees.
