A supply of Diphtheritic Anti-toxin is kept at the Council
Offices, also at the residences of the Medical Officer of Health and
Chief Sanitary Inspector, where it can be obtained at any time.
During 1925, 47 tubes (94,000 units) were supplied.
Specimens for examination are sent to the Medical Superintendent
at the Joint Isolation Hospital. A list of the material and
results obtained is given below.
We have had very few cases of Encephalitis Lethargica
during the past five years. In 1924, there were 6 cases. Although
careful enquiry was made into all the cases during the period referred
to, no source of infection could be traced, and no second case
has occurred in any one house.
The number of cases of Pneumonia for the past five years has
not been excessive, having regard to the population.
We have had no cases of Malaria in the District since 1922.
