The Middlesex County Council being the Authority for taking samples under the above Act, Mr. R. Robinson, Chief Officer of the Public Control Department, has kindly supplied the following figures of samples taken during the year:—

The figures given for adulterated samples include some adulterated
informal samples in respect of which no proceedings could
be taken.
INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
Owing to the prevalence of Smallpox in the provinces, Chickenpox
was made notifiable in October, 1921, for a period of six months,
and again from June, 1922, for periods of 12 months up to the
present time.
