Where the standard death-rate of the town is the same as the
standard death-rate of the Country generally, no correction is
required; but when these death-rates are different, the standard
death-rate for the town must be raised or lowered in a certain ratio.
The factor for correction for Wood Green, given by the RegistrarGeneral,
is .969, which shows a corrected death-rate of 9.447, which
almost corresponds with the rate obtained from the figures supplied
by the Registrar-General.

There were 35 deaths of infants under one year of age, which
corresponds to a rate of 47.29 per 1,000 births, as against 32, or a
rate of 41.99 per 1,000 births in 1924, the increase being due to
Whooping Cough and Diarrhoea (including Enteritis).
