INSPECTION AND SUPERVISION OF FOOD.
Milk Supply.—There are 2 wholesale dealers, 240 retail milk purveyors, and 1 cowkeeper
in this district. Their premises and utensils are frequently inspected.
In addition there are 48 milk sellers whose premises are situate outside Willesden.
The following table shows the number of licences granted for the sale of graded milk under
the Milk (Special Designations) Order, 1923, during the year 1933:—

There were no refusals or revocations of licences under the Milk (Special Designations) Order
1923, during the year.
Twelve samples of designated milks were examined during the year. All of these were
satisfactory.
Forty-eight samples of milk (including two "Certified," one "Pasteurised" and one "Grade
A") were taken during the year for examination for the presence of tubercle bacilli under the Milk
and Dairies (Consolidation) Act, 1915.
Seven samples representing 14.58 of the total number (Nos. 0/316, 0/326, 0/329, 0/334, 0/335,
0/340 and 0/347) were found to contain tubercle bacilli, and action was taken resulting in an examination
of the herds at the supplying farms situated in the counties of Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire (2),
Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Gloucestershire and Shropshire.
